The Kentucky Soccer Referee Association recently announced it’s upcoming schedule for its entry-level Referee Certification Courses.
It’s great for a young player, college student or parent looking to get more involved with soccer or just looking for some extra income. The minimum age to become a referee is 12 years old.
Certification courses are required to become a referee and be assigned to games. And associations and clubs are working constantly to create a positive environment for youth and adult referees with stronger reminders to parents and players that abusive behaviors are not welcome.
“Referees are a critical part of youth soccer!” the KSRA announcement says. “In Kentucky we are always looking for more people who love the game of soccer to become certified referees. We have courses almost every weekend in Lexington between now and the beginning of the season.”
There is a fee for the course, but that money usually can be made back in the very first weekend of games.
